Meeting of the Council of the Interbank Association of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization

In 2021, along with the Chairmanship of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the SSB RT "Amonatbonk" also chairs the Interbank Association of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization being a member bank of the Association.

On this occasion, today, on September 16, a meeting of the Council of the Interbank Association of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held in Dushanbe based on the initiative of the SSB "Amonatbonk" and was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the National Bank of Tajikistan management, the SCO Secretary General and the heads of the SCO Interbank Association member-banks.

The meeting was attended by the SCO Secretariat, senior officials of the Indian Infrastructure Finance Company, State Development Corporation "VEB.RF", the National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the "RSK Bank" of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, as well as the SCO IBA partner bank - Eurasian Development Bank took part in this event in person. To ensure participation of the authorized financial institutions of all parties, the necessary arrangements were organized to ensure on-line connectivity through video conference. This allowed delegations from the State Development Bank of China, Habib Bank of Pakistan, as well as partner banks such as “Belarusbank” and Development Bank of Mongolia to participate in the meeting remotely

During the meeting, as provided by the Agenda, representatives of the SCO IBA member banks have discussed six important areas aimed at strengthening of bilateral and multilateral cooperation:

1. Enhancement of the cooperation with financial institutions of the SCO observer states and dialogue partners countries;

2. development of collaboration with international financial institutions operating in the SCO countries and the Asian region

3. Adoption of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Interbank Association Medium-Term Development Strategy for 2022-2026

4. Investment cooperation of the SCO IBA Member Banks;

5. Cooperation in the areas of experience sharing and training activities;

6. Selection of the new Chair of the SCO IBA for the 2021-2022.

It is encouraging to note that today the Strategy for further development of the SCO IBA in the medium term (2022-2026) was adopted with support of all SCO IBA member banks.
