Celebrating the 110th anniversary of the People's Poet of Tajikistan Mirzo Tursunzade
On the 7th May at the Central Office of the State Savings Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan "Amonatbonk" was held an event dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the poet, Ambassador of Peace and Unity, People's Poet of Tajikistan Mirzo Tursunzade. The event was attended by Chairman of the Board of Bank Ikromi S.S., Chairman of the Writers' Union of Tajikistan Nizom Kosim and bank employees.
At the beginning of the event, Ikromi S.S. making a presentation, noted the dignity and special place of Mirzo Tursunzade, adding that the poet during his career traveled all over the world and made great efforts in the name of friendship and peace. Mirzo Tursunzade's poetry and peace-loving poems presented him as a person spreading the ideas of peace throughout the world.
The People's Poet of Tajikistan Mirzo Tursunzade began his career in the journalism, namely in the “Javononi Tojikiston” publishing house, then continued his work in the theater, the Writers' Union and other state structures. Mirzo Tursunzade was appointed chairman of the Writers' Union of Tajikistan since 1946 and played a significant role in the formation of literature. Indeed, the people's poet of Tajikistan, Mumin Kanoat, praising Mirzo Tursunzade, said: “The Tajik people will never forget the true merits of this great poet of the nation”.
Chairman of the Union of Writers of Tajikistan Nizom Kosim also spoke about the life and poetry of Mirzo Tursunzade, noting that praise of peace and friendship occupied an important place in his work.
The poems "Voice of Asia", "Holy Girl", "I am from the Free East" and others are directly related to this topic. Deep perception of the concept of peace allowed Tursunzade to reach great heights and to be appointed Chairman of the Committee for Peace in Asia and Africa, where he sacredly fulfilling his duty, promoted the idea of peace, stability and security in these regions. Each line dedicated by the poet to the idea of peace is today perceived and used by the peace-loving people as an anti-war motto. For all his deserts, Mirzo Truzunzade was awarded the honorary title of People's Poet of Tajikistan and the highest title of Hero of Tajikistan.
At the end of the event, in honor of the 76th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet Army over Nazi Germany, the Bank's management awarded a number of former peacekeeping soldiers working in Amonatbonk.
